“Yoga is the journey of self, through the self, to the self.”
The Bhagavad Gita.~
What is Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced, meditative practice that helps you to tune inwards into your thoughts, emotions, and somatic sensations.
This contemplative and nourishing yoga modality focuses on your body’s deep connective tissues—fascia, ligaments, tendons, and bones—with the goal of increasing joint circulation and flexibility.
Its aims include awareness of inner self and increasing the flow of Qi. As much as you surrender and anchor yourself to your breath, the higher releases of emotions and energy you will meet.
Within class, we are holding poses for a longer period of time (3min ~ 6min). The poses are designed to stimulate the subtle bodily pathways known as meridians in Chinese medicine and nadis in Hatha yoga.
Yin yoga is based on TCM Philosophy and their principles of the body meridian system that is associated with The Yin & Yang theory and The 5 Elements Theories.

What is Mindfulness Meditation?
Mindfulness meditation is simply a method of mental training that consists of focusing your full attention on your breath as it flows in and out of your body. In this way you observe your thoughts as they arise in your mind and, little by little, you learn to let them go without criticism.
Mindfulness is about observation without judgment, being compassionate with yourself.
In essence, a regular practice of mindfulness is a way to gently retrain the mind to settle into the present moment. It’s kind of like becoming a parent to your mind rather than letting it control you.
Deep breathing and body awareness are two main mindfulness meditation approaches. Mindfulness meditation requires no preparation, you can start with three to five minutes of stillness and awareness of your breath.
Over time you come to the profound understanding that thought and emotions (including negative ones) are transient. You watch them as they appear in your mind and see them disappear like clouds in the sky.
